  • Slight side to side crank movement-'89 Johnson

I have an '89 Johnson 200 GT with aledgedly 25 hours since rebuild. When I grab the flywheel and push back and forth (flywheel is tight) I get a very slight movement that can be heard and somewhat felt, but I cannot see the movement at all. Is a slight movement of the crank/upper crank bearing like this normal, even with a motor with alledgedly only 25 hours on the rebuild? I did everything I could to try to "see" the movement but can't see any. But hearing it concerns me. I have been told that with roller bearing design there will be a slight amont of movement, but most people are telling me there shouldn't be ANY movement AT ALL at the upper bearing. I hope this small movement is acceptable. Thanks very much for your help.

    Anybody?

Anybody? I could sure use a little piece of mind right now. Spent $3000 on this motor and can't afford to spend anymore right now. I'm hoping this slight movement is ok, otherwise I feel like I was ripped off.
