id tag not printed

hi, bought a johnson 8.0 , a bombardier motors version. the id tag does not appear to have been printed , it has just scribble wear the model and serial should be, appears to be the way it came from the factory. has anyone seen anything like this before. i wish to find a manual for this motor. i believe it is 2004 -2007? any help is greatly appreciated.

No all that I've seen do have a model sticker.

any thoughts on how i can id it for sure so i can service it correctly, and who might know why the id tag is not stamped?
