Two stroke mixture
I have a 1983 Johnson two stroke outboard.
I mixed 2.6 ounces of Mercury Quicksilver two stroke oil to a gallon of premium gas. I had trouble starting the engine and it continue to run.
It also smoked quite a bit. (I mixed two gallons of this mixture in the gas can and added Stabil).
I added one half gallon of gas to the mixture and the engine started right up and it purrs like a kitten. Am I headed for trouble in having a leaner mixture than the recemmended 50:1 ?
