1994 J4RERE Evinrude / Johnson Johnson Outboard GEARCASE Diagram and Parts
The clutch keeps breaking. the orginal part was in there for 3 years of hard year round use. It broke last winter, replaced it, and it lasted 20 hours and broke. replaced it again and this one lasted 8 hours.
Is there something else that is making this part break? (fresh lower unit oil each change)
the clutch keeps splitting right in the middle & sheering in two. Also, where the shift rod (part #27) meets the clutch spring, it strech's out. I'll post a pic of broken part in a bit. Im hoping this is just a case of infiorer (sp?) new parts and hopefully i'll get lucky and get a strong on that will last...!.?
