How do I lock the outboard in raised position?

Hi

I have bought a vintage 1969 Johnson 25 hp two stroke. The outboard does really well but there is a small problem. I can not find a latch that allows the outboard to be locked in the upright position.
Would be most grateful if someone could show me preferably via a sketch or a picture.
