1995 Johnson 50 hp starts idles fine when giving full throttle misses, no power acts up. and carries on.

Try bumping choke or pumping fuel primer bulb to see if helps. May need to run a compression test to see if all cylinders are even, check to see if all cylinders are firing, may need to remove and clean carbs.

Thanks for the reply...bump the choke when it was doing it and pumped up ball did not help, both plugs are firing ( new nkg bpr7hs ) compression test on both cylinders read 10 was thinking of running thru 1 gallon of 50/50 gas and seafoam mixture at high idle any other thoughts besides carb rebuild.

Might use a timing light to see if it's an ignition problem and which cylinder is misfiring.

Its not a debate but documented fact that OMC products were specifically designed and engineered around Champion spark plugs. You are not doing yourself any favors by using NGK plugs in that motor. I run NKG in my Yamahas and they are great plugs-for that application. Google it yourself if you don't believe me.
