johnson 200 trim tilt

recently put a used fastrac system on my Johnson 200. All was fine up and down but when running it would leak up i.e. in reverse the engine would pop up. after trailering home I investigated and noticed I could lift engine real easyfor like an inch and after the inch I could still raise it but it would not be as easy and take more strength. any ideas on what to do to remedy this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Try filling with fluid and open manual release to let motor go down all the way, raise motor back up by hand and recheck fluid, repeat a couple of times to get all air out of system.
