To safely test the compression on a 1987 110 Johnson I'm going to use a push button starter switch. One alligator clamp to the solenoid post from the battery and one to the post that actuates the solenoid. Then just push the button and turn the starter. By having the key switch in the off position and the kill switch activated there would be no possible damage to other electrical components. Am I correct in my thinking?
