Hello,
New to this forum. I have a 1981 Johnson 35 Model J35ECIG, S/N C8118578.
Helping a friend replace the top needle bearing on the crankshaft. This bearing has a hole punched outward in the outer housing to form a pin of sorts.
I was not there when he removed the crank, from the case, and did not see where this pin on the bearing should be located into the case when the crank is reinstalled.
There appears to be two be two locations where this could be:
-There is a small half moon shape recess where the two cases join together that the bearing pin will align with.
- Also there is a hole at the bottom of one of the case half's bearing recess into which the bearing pin will align. This hole appears to be ported to the crank case.
Using SELOC manual of course and it does not show how this should go together....
Anybody have a proper OEM manual they could refer to and tell me the correct installation?
I can post some pictures if required to explain this better.
Thanks
