Engine not used for 1 1/2 years

I have a Yamaha 40 HP outboard engine (on 14ft McKee) that has not been started for 1 1/2 years (due to illness). The engine year is 1983.

Now, I am ready to get back on the water.

Q: Do I need to have the engine "serviced" before attempting to start the engine?

Q: What do you suggest that I need to do (if anything) to the engine before starting?

I have changed (emptied old gas, and replaced with new) gasoline, purchased new spark plugs and 2 cycle engine oil - in the event that I need to have the engine serviced.

If this is oil injected model then add 50:1 oil mix to gas tank to make sure oil injection is working ok. Make gearcase oil is full.
Probably will need to remove and clean carbs and may need a new water pump.
