Johnson 88 SPL - Power Trim Locked Up

Hey guy's! My friends and I recently acquired an older pontoon with I believe a 1995 Johnson 88 SPL (Model: J88TSLEOC), and everything works except for the power trim/ tilt hydraulic assembly. All the relays are working fine and power is getting to the lift assembly but it sounds locked up as if there's a jam in the system. I currently have the hydraulic system off and I removed the lift motor.. It is turning just fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Does the electric trim motor run when you press trim switch? If not connect trim motor wires direct to a 12 volt battery to see if runs, if don't run replace trim motor. If hydraulics are locked then loosen manual release screw and push down on tilt ram( easier done with trim unit still installed on outboard)should be able to compress. If does compress then tighten manual release and try to trim up. If doesn't compress then will need to rebuild or replace trim unit.
