I have a '75 50 horse. Just bought it with a tri hull boat, forward and reverse didn't work, pulled it apart, and found... problems. Lol Top bearing on drive shaft exploded and gave the shaft enough up and down play to cause the pinion gear to move up so it was only hitting half the gear. Long story short, reverse and the pinion were eaten alive. I have the gears ordered and got the bearing today. When I went to put the bearing in I found the inside of the old bearing still on the shaft. I tried force... Didn't work. Tried a little heat... Nothing. Can anyone tell me a good way to get it off of there? Thanks in advance for any help. Sorry if this has been asked before.
