we just bought a 86 pontoon with the johnson 60hp.we started it up at home and it will idle when we throtle up it starts cuting out.we just put new plugs in the other day and it run fine.so anyone no whats going on with it thanks

I have a 1985 75HP (same basic motor as yours) and have exactly the same problem. I tried getting help here but got no answer. The board owner used to come on and try to help but it looks like it didn't generate enough sales so it appears to be abandoned.
Mine seems to perk up when I manually advance the timing but I haven't found out for sure if that's the real problem as I can't do it while underway.
If I ever figure it out I'll post the answer and try to find your post to respond there too.
