I have been looking for the correct measurment for my shifter rod. Is there a difference between a 2000 and a 2002 j150vxsss? The tag on the motor says "this engine conforms to 2000 specs. My boat is a 2002 Mako. Please tell me the proper adustment for this rod. thanks
also: I just replace the water pump on this unit, but prior, I was having a problem with it, while in reverse, when I gave it more throttle, it would pop in and out of gear. The shift rod was set a 26+3/8 inch.
