So I have a lower unit from a 120hp 1985 OMC. I was going to use this casing to replace the lower unit on my 140hp 1986 OMC. The 140hp had the 25" extra long shaft that I wanted placed in the 120hp lower unit that had the 20" long shaft, but I was told that they are not interchangeable and the shafts are a different diameter? Is this true? Am I just out of luck and the money I paid for the foot?
