I have a 2002 Johnson 150 HP Outboard that has developed ignition issues. My Pollak ignition switch burnt or shorted so I purchased and installed a new one. It worked great for 1 1/2 fishing trips. On the second trip I encountered problems with my engine not idling and eventually died out and would not restart. It was acting as if it had no fire at the engine. During my trouble shooting efforts I realized if I removed the black with yellow stripe wire from terminal M on the switch my motor started immediately, but when I reconnected the wire it killed the engine. I brought the switch back to the dealer who then tested it and said the switch was good. Any suggestions on what trouble shooting steps I could take next would be greatly appreciated.
