oil injection

Hi,
i have a 1999 35 hp Johnson with oil injection,
last weekend it used the whole tank of oil to one tank of gas, it did not foul a plug but it did smoke a lot, any ideas ? can the oil injection be by passed?/

Probably needs a new VRO pump. Can disconnect oil line, unplug low oil warning harness from VRO and use a 50:1 oil ratio premix.
