Hi all,
I have a 1977 Evinrude 70 that I would like to retrofit with power trim and tilt. I just bought the PTT unit from a 1984 70hp Johnson off of e-bay. I am pretty sure I am going to need the transom brackets as well. Is there anything else I will need to complete the swap? Do I need the swivel tube too or can I use the old 1977 swivel tube?
Moreover, has anyone done a swap/retrofit like this before? Can anyone offer any constructive advise? I would love to hear any and all suggestions.
