30 hp lower unit

hello.I have a 1988 30 hp johnson.I'm doin some work to the lower unit and replaced the reverse gear with a used one someone gave me.problem is it has no bushing in it.everything i look up says it comes with gear and bushing.dont want to have to pay 175 bucks when all i need is a $5 bushing.any advice appreciated

Johnson doesn't off the bushing without buying gear.
