2003 115HP 4 Stroke T&T

My 2003 115 4 stroke had issues last year with the tilt & trim motor working intermittently. I took the motor off, cleaned the brushes and extended the springs. This worked until the fall when I winterized and put the motor away for its winter nap. When I pulled the boat out of storage the T&T motor wouldn’t work at all, the relays were clicking but no movement. I tapped on the motor and got it to go up about ½ way of travel, wouldn’t engage any higher. I know I need a T&T motor but my question is how do I get motor to top of travel so I can put travel lock on and can get to motor and R&R it? I saw the manual valve on left side of transom mount and opened it and obviously motor will go down. Can I open this with motor supported with jack and then jack motor up to travel position?

Open manual release and raise motor up by hand.

Thanks. That worked although I had to use a jack to raise the motor. Changed out T&T motor and we are again good to go.
