Left motors on there side all winter

I left a 15hp and a 25hp laying on there sides over the winter the 15 always started on 3rd or 4th pull even after not running for 6 months. Not today lots of oil on sparkplugs was getting plenty spark. 2 years ago had some carb work done (man I love ethanol gas) pulled fuel pump, filter, the carb off to take a look, everything I could see as far as fuel system goes looked brand new still. Wondering how bad was it to leave on there side and if it did some damage what am I lookin at for repairs? I Am guessing this is why Johhny giving me trouble. Hopefully he will forgive me
