I have a 2000 johnson 175 wo sroke, all was good, I bought the boat two months ago and it has ran fine until the other day I noticed a distinct sound like a piston knocking sound while on pad around the 30-50 mph range and cant hear it when Im going faster than that. The boat had a dark bluish oil in the resovoir before I changed over to penzoil xlf, I know your not supposed to mix oils, so I let it get close to empty before I poured the penzoil in. The motor started knocking the next trip out and is still doing this, any advice would be great. Thanks Easy as changing the oil or need to take it in?
