help removing the foot on a 20 h.p. Jhnson

New to the forum and I need some help. I am trying to drop the the foot on my 1999 Johnson 20 h.p., manual start, shifter on the front,, need to change the impeller, I loosened the 4 bolts on the foot and also removed the nut, cannot figure out how to disc the shift rod, any help will be greatly appreciated.

The nut on shift shaft is behind water pump inlet screen.
