I just bought a 1998 J50TSLECC with TNT it came with binnacle controls but I want to use a side remote control # 5006180 do I need to buy any adaparters or will the cables going to the binnacle work their is one plug that goes to the "smart Tac: and wires for the TNT gauge. What I am asking will i need new cable or will my old cables work?

Depending on the control box, you may need to purchase a new main harness. -
Like I said the control box is JOHNSON 5006180 will the cables that came with the engine when new work? are the plugs the same at the control or do I need new cables? or do I need an adapater?Comment

If engine is 1996 or newer then that control will work but would need main harness, your choice of

Hooked up
I just hooked up the new controller (#5006180 ) and it worked with my harness from 1998 I did not have to buy anything extra.Comment
