Hello all.
I am in the process of getting ready to rebuild a parts 1973 Johnson 9.5. I have secured a older power head that is in excellent shape, however it is a few years older. Can anyone tell me if I can use the intake manifold off the 73 on the older power head. From what I have been told it should be possible, however, up until 71 the intake had a hose that ran to a nipple on the cylinder block. None of the drawing I have found for the 73 have it. I believe it was a line to bring lubrication to the lower bearings( possibly deleted with the use of better 2 stroke oil?).
