1990 TJ25ELESE Problems
Hi,
Just bought a used boat with a 25 electric start Johnson - tried to start it up today for the first time and found two issues.
1. Starter motor works well - gears meshed with flywheel fine the first time I started it.......now starter spins fine but won't engage gears...hardly moves at all. Am I looking at a whole new starter assembly or is the solenoid assembly P/N 0395419 the issue?
2. Had the motor running for 2-3 minutes with the cover off and noticed water dripping just above the lower spark plug? Not a river, maybe a drop every 3-5 seconds.. continued to drip after the motor was shut off as well. Is this a gasket problem or more serious?
