84 70hp carb overhaul

I'm getting ready to overhaul the 3 carburetors on my 1984 70hp. My repair manual states the float drop measurement but says I need gauge part # 324891 to check the float adjustment. Does anyone know how to measure this without the gauge? Thanks, Keith

You require a guage to properly set the floats.
