  • overheated my ol' motor- help!!

    hiya all
need some help here with an old 1987- 2 stroke 115 hp , been running great- got some kelp oround the inlets today- and it overheated- i managed to shut it down- let it cool and restarted. started fine ran fine, but one of the top pistons is staying hotter than the others- now i cant say for sure if it was running hotter befor- and i am only noticing it now, or did something happen during the overheat. i flush the motor everytime i use it for at least 20 minutes a time- need to check my invoices to see if the thermostats were changed the last time it was at the mechanics- i know i bought them and sent them down to the mechanic.- but will check up
i have only owned this boat and motor for a short while- but has run great up till now.
its the only motor i have- so i hope it is saveable!!
    thanks

Run a compression test, may have to remove head and check for blockage in water passages
