have a bad trim and tilt relay, only have down trim, do I need to replace both relays?

  • #2
It is usually better to replace both relays, but not required.

It appears the problem was not the relays, replaced them both and still only have down. I jumped the motor to the battery and the motor and hydrolics work in both directions, the wiring checked out to the best of my abilities. The mechanic at the marina suggested the socket where the relays plug in or the switch on the throttle handle, I can't check either, what do you think?

The trim switchs are known to go bad from time to time. Start with that.

not the switches! Checked all the circuitry through the relay blocks again, and alll checks out OK. How about the tilt limit switch, what do you think?
