    Hello,
i am new to this forum and after reading some of the post i decided it would be a good time to ask a question to some of you guys.my brother in law and i decided to take a day of fishing and we headed to our favorite spot. i have a 1982 johnson 140 hp outboard on a 1973 bonita walk thru hull 18' in length and everthing on the hull has been completly redone.we headed out to our first fishing hole which is about a 30 minute boat ride and everything ran fine. we stopped at our fav spot and fished for awhile. we went to start the boat back up and it sounded like the battery was getting weak. we paid no mind to it because the motor started up after a few spins on the starter so we continued on to our next spot and after fishing that spot for about an hour we decided to move to another spot but when we went to start the motor the battery was dead or so i thought so i looked in the cowell and pulled out the pull rope and about a half round on the fly wheel gave it a pull it fired right up. taking no chances we headed back to the landing with no running problem put the boat back on the trailer and proceded home. after getting home i hooked up the hose to flush out the motor and it would not start again.so i took the battery out of the battery box and went to recharge it it took a charge for about 10 minutes on 2amp charge and showed a full charge after that. replaced battery back in boat tried to restart but again it would not turn over. left the motor alone for the remainder of the night and next morning went to restart and it fired right up. can anyone tell me what they may think the problem can be because i can't for the life of me do so. i have a brand new starter on the motor that is about 2 months old and this is the first time i ran the boat with the new starter since i purchased it. any ideas would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    James Broussard

Have battery load tested and test battery cables, check battery cable connections are clean and tight.
