  • Who to make a Johnsen 90 to 115hp

    I have Johnsen 90 2004 model with carburators. J90PLSRR
    Hope to get some advice to make this engine to 115hp.

    We don't make horsepower conversion and don't know anyone that does.

      it is way more complicated than it is worth

      you need to resleeve the cylinder or grind out of the ports on the 90 hp block to those dimensions that are on the 115 block/sleeve.

      the ports are in a different locations and a different size.

      the carbs are different...you will need 115 hp carbs.
      the heads are different....the 90 hp heads have a deeper chamber ( less compression) even though the books say the heads are interchangable...it only means they bolt up!! they are way different in chamber size.

      if it was just the heads and the carbs....it would be easy...

      I did this al to a 1997 90 hp ocean pro. I ported the sleeves to match the 115 johnson motor I had.... and i bought intruder 115 hp carbs and heads.....

      the heads are about .090" different in depth of chamber!

      good luck

      probably cheaper to sell the 90 and buy a 115.... certainly easier!

        Hi zduckdogs, could you help me here,I have a 1996 115hp with bad pistons and no carbs,what motor( year) can I used to repair my 1996(i can not fing a 1996,just 80's).

        I actually can buy an 82 and 83
        help please
