  • water temp

I have a 150hp johnson made in 1997. I get a “water temp” warning signal ,every time I want to increase my speed .The flow of water running out of the water pump indicator is as good as usual and the temperature on the dashboard the same as usual a little less than 150° F. I can only use my motor at 1000/1500 RPM. What happens ?
    Thanks

If the computer goes into a limp mode, this will not allow the motor to run over 2000 rpms. If you have not, then you should change the water pump impeller, also clean out all the water passages. If problem persists check the water temp sensors.

      water temp

It was the starboard thermostat .On my Four Winns Sundowner the temperature indicated on the dashboard is coming from the port cylinders and port cylinders were o.k.

      best regards .

The dash sensors are different than the computer sensors.
