1985 30hp..water pump and parts

I just got a 85' 30 hp (j30ecoa) that apparently had a small fire in side mid section.. water pump housing was burn and the tube that goes around the shaft was also melted. i have found the new water pump assembly and grommets for copper tube but can not find the tube that goes around shaft.. is this a necessary part.. are there any other small parts or bushings that could have been melted away???

That does help seal exhaust out may not pump good without it.
