1981 70 HP Starter
I have a 1981 70 Seahorse model J70ELCIH
I am having starter issues and am planning to replace it.
I pulled the starter (American Bosch 1062923m030sm) There is also a number on the side 04N18N (what is this number)
I found replacements on MarineEngines.com. However, it says the replacement is for an American Bosch 17996-29-m030sm.
Any ideas as to why the numbers are different?
Here are my choices:
0586281 - MOTOR AY,STARTER Johnson Evenrude
18-5635 - Starter, 585058, 586281 Sierra
OUTBOARD STARTER Replaces: 585058, 586281, 386657, 391735, 585050, 384777
Replaces OEM # 0384777
5370 - Outboard STARTER, 586281 Arco
FITS: O.M.C. 55-75 HP 3-cyl 9-tooth drive gear
Replaces OEM # 0385667
Can someone help me determine the right replacement?
