Hello,
I have an issue with my J40TLCUD Johnson 40hp motor, the linkage that is in the engine compartment that does the shifting, has moved a little to the side, causing intermittent issues while shifting into reverse. This is where the control cables connect to the lever on the starboard side of the engine then it slides to the port side by the starter. This rod has about a quarter inch of play allowing the rod to slide toward port side causing a pin that connects to the shift rod to come out of place. It looks like there is a bushing of some sort missing? I can not find a drawing of this exact part to see if anything is missing. I have looked on iboats and marineengine.com. Does any one have a link to where I may be able to see what is missing?
Thank you
