Hey, i bought a used jon boat for my dad to use now that he is retired. He does not like the tiller steering; enjoys the boat otherwise. I would like to convert it to remote steering. Just a simple throttle control and a lever for steering. Motor is already electric start... don't really care to have remote start/stop... he won't mind reaching behind him to do that much; plus he and i will just wire into the existing start/stop if he wants it.
I think i need:
-p# 0433720 (brackets and stuff for motor) (is that right?)
-some cables (have no idea which ones) about 10' long.
-a binnacle of some sort (which one? kind?)
-a steering lever (which one what kind?) (steering wheel would be okay too i guess)
-ummmm, what is the part that stays still, but allows cable to push/pull for steering? is that part of cables?
Any help would be appreciated.
