1989 9.9 not pumping out tell tale

i recently just replaced the whole water pump assembly and still doesnt pump out the tell tale....it comes out the exhaust part. i blew threw the drain hose and doesnt seem to be glogged. any ideas?

If it's coming out the exhaust the must have blockage in tell tale passage somewhere.

ehats the best way to try and clear it out.... i was thinkin to put it on the boat and run it hard hoping to push it out??????

Use compressed air and blow back through the tell tale.
