1990 Johnson 60 hp tell tale relocate

I ve read an printed all the info to relocate tell tale to top of block and drill and tap in there. Not so sure about this? I already have anpt threaded spot on the head at top cylinder...it seams to me hat would be a better locate ? Any advice or comments ?
