Repairing a motor that has few logged hours and was dragged on a sandy bottom when boat capsized. Completely cleaned and replaced multiple parts.
Motor runs, was on for 20-30 minutes - turned on and off several times with no problems at low speed. When I opened the throttle to increase speed, the motor would not turn off and the speed continued to increase. When I attempted to close the throttle and turn the switch key off (and kill switch), it would not turn off. I was able to turn it off only by allowing the gas to run out.
Any ideas?
