I have a 175HP outboard that recently has had trouble coming up on plane. The RPM has trouble getting from 2500 up to 3000. Once it hits 3000 it does good and goes on plane and seems to have good power on top end and maxed RPM is 4800-5000. It only does this when it is under load. does fine at idle. Just wondering if there are any ideas out there. There are no local mechanics and I bought the boat about 4 hours away, so hated to take it all the way there for a possible simple fix.
