gt150 paint question

i have a 1984 gt150 VRO that i am repainting . i would like to do the decal detail from a 1988. the question is are the cowlings the same size? i have looked at pictures where they look the same but not sure and i don't want to order a decal set if it won't fit. i can get decals for a 1988 which i like the look of.
