2003 Johnson 25hp

I have a 2003 Johnson 25hp pull start. There are actually a few questions. The motor cranks fairly easily, but doesn't like to idle even after warming it up or even after long runs. I am assuming that is a carb problem? The most important question though, the motor shifts into neutral, reverse, and forward very easily while running. However, if the motor cuts off while in gear it is VERY difficult to get it back into neutral, and when you do, and crank it up, it almost always slips back into forward roughly. What do I need to be looking at?

Definately sounds like it needs the carburetor repaired and adjusted. You may just need to adjust your shift cables. Verify there are no obstructions around the shift shafts and components.
