I've been trying to isolate a malfunction with the motor listed in the thread title. The motor had been sitting idle for about 4 years when I picked it up this past fall. My first attempt to run it in water failed when I could not keep it running in forward gear. Further testing and diagnosis revealed a worn fuel pump diaphragm and gasket. Once replaced the motor would run in a barrel but still seemed rough. Finally after some adjustments it seemed to be running failry well and I was about to take it to a local river for a test run. One last run before taking it out of the barrel, ran for about 15 seconds and died. Hasn't ran since. No spark!! Disconnected remote harness and still no spark. Checked for voltage at blue/orange + orange leads at ignition coils.. nothing!! Disconnected powerpack from charging coil and only 12 volts coming from charge coil. Question: What is the proper method for testing the charge coil and sensor? Will a Fluke Multi-meter such as the 27 Series with a 1000 volt range be sufficient?
