  • 1987 225 parts question

I am rebuilding a 1987 255 E225TXCUB. The number 3 cylinder went lean and beside distroying the piston it detonated the inside of the head. Most pitting is about .020 deap. Is milling the head an option? Should I mill both heads?
Looking on Ebay there are numerous heads for sale for V6 loopers, but none of the part numbers sellers list match my number or any numbers the local OMC dealer can cross. My head PN is 331490, most sellers have 333809, or 333108. The IPC shows my engine should use a 0398268 or 0398269 which are no longer available. The 0398268 shows for a 225 only and the 0398269 says for 1986 200TX only. Any help as to what partnumber head will fit is appreciated. I don't think it makes a difference, but iI need a port head.:

You would need the head 0398268 for propper fitment. Unfortunately I was also unsuccessful in crossing the other part numbers. If you do mill the heads, a strong caution must be taken to ensure the piston does not touch head.
