I just purchased a boat with a 1997 50hp Johnson J50ESLEUS engine. It looks like someone tried to work on the engine so there are several questionable items on it. I did figure that a part that had a wire not connected was a horn--looked at wiring diagrams but they don't show the wiring for this. The main problem at this time is that there is no spark on either cylinder. Did ohm on brown/brown-yellow wires coming from stator and the reading was 804. The reading on the orange/orange-black wires is 405. Bad stator for sure????????? Appreciate the help.
